What are wrist wraps for weightlifting?

Wrist wraps, also known as gym wraps, are supportive bands worn around the wrists to provide stability and reduce strain during weightlifting exercises.

Are wrist wraps good for lifting?

Yes! Wrist wraps provide wrist support for lifting heavy weights. This gives it the benefit of limiting excessive wrist movement, reduces strain, and allows you to lift heavier with better control.

When should you use wrist wraps?

Use wrist wraps during heavy pressing exercises like bench presses, overhead presses, and other movements that put stress on your wrists.

How tight should wrist wraps be?

Wrist wraps should provide a comfortable level of compression and support. Just ensure it's not too tight to cut off blood flow.

What’s the difference between wrist wraps and lifting straps?

Wrist wraps are only worn around the wrist for joint support and stability. While lifting straps are designed to secure your hands to the weight to help improve grip strength.

What does “USPA-Recommended” mean?

UPPPER Wrist Wraps are USPA-recommended. This means the product meets the standards set by the United States Powerlifting Association and is approved for use in their competitions.

How to put on wrist wraps

  1. Find the thumb loop and line it up with the inside of your wrists.
  2. Put your thumb through the loop so the wrist wrap is in place on your hand.
  3. Wrap your wrist with the velcro side facing in. The velcro needs to be on the outside of the wrist once you’re done wrapping. Keep the edges aligned while you wrap them around your wrists.
  4. Wrap it until it’s comfortably tight and secure it with the velcro. It should be tight enough to put pressure, but not too tight that it causes discomfort.

Ensure the wrist wrap covers the wrist joint enough to create support. If it’s set below the joint then they become useless!
